The first GAMELasbNET lab arrives in Madrid

The Spanish Logistics Center (CEL) and Conetic (Spanish Confederation of Information Technology, Communication and Electronics Companies) have inaugurated in Madrid the first GAMELabsNET laboratory in Spain, an innovation center that in the first year will serve more than 700 companies to experiment with the most innovative technologies and improve their decision making when driving the digital transformation of the business and social fabric of our country.

The inauguration ceremony, which was attended by the Mayor of Coslada, Ángel Viveros Gutiérrez; the General Director of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence of the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Salvador Estevan Martínez; and the Deputy Director of Digital Economy of Red.es, Mr. José Ignacio Sanchez Valdenebro, marks the launch of the GAMELabsNET Network of European laboratories in Spain. Thanks to these innovation centers, companies will be able to experiment and apply visual intelligence, immersive, simulation and gamification technologies for the development of products and services, such as, for example, the virtualization and monitoring of an industrial plant; the creation of digital twins that analyze data; or the creation of simulation applications for different scenarios.

In the words of Ana I. González, president of CEL, “in this case, the main purpose of this project is to boost the innovation ecosystem around these technologies and bring supplier companies closer to potential users”. In this way, it contributes to the digitization of the industry and the business fabric, enabling small companies to respond to the challenges of large companies.

For Tomás Castro Alonso, president of Conetic (Spanish Confederation of Information Technology, Communication and Electronics Companies), “the laboratory was created with a dual objective, to bring technological solutions to companies and provide them with knowledge from their experimentation, a more effective step to help them in their digital transformation processes and on the other hand and promote R & D among companies developing these solutions, giving them the opportunity to discover complementarities between them, to strengthen cooperation to address the most ambitious business challenges, which are usually reserved for larger companies”.

The role of Conetic and CEL involves both organizations energizing the initiative by making the network available to companies so that they can collaborate on common projects. In addition, they will offer training services, individual advice and pilot projects, and will organize events and sectoral workshops, among other activities.

The network of six laboratories responds to the needs of different and interoperable sectors, located not only in Spain (Madrid and Bilbao), but also in Portugal and France. Both the Madrid laboratory will contribute to the objective of developing new technologies to contribute to the digitization of industry and the business fabric.
